CHICAGO (May 18, 2023) – Today the National Independent Soccer Association announced its April Performers of the Month awards. Determined by a select set of NISA front office staff, the winners are:

  • Player of the Month: Player who demonstrated his abilities on the field above and beyond any other player in the league.
    • Jean Antoine of Chattanooga FC is the first keeper ever to earn NISA Player of the Month honors. The defending holder of the Golden Glove Award has started the season with four clean sheets over four April starts.

  • Coach of the Month: Coach who led his team to significant results and led by example both on and off the field.
    • Alex Kao led the Maryland Bobcats FC to a 2-0-0 in league play and a win in the 2023 Open Cup—leading its deepest advancement in club history.

  • Club of the Month: An off the field award to the Club that best promoted their brand and image within their local community.
    • Chattanooga FC posted a 3-1-0 mark putting it at the top of the league table. Within the community, the club executed a Cause of the Match for each home match; one with Ronald McDonald House Chattanooga, and one with Habitat for Humanity.

  • Operations Team of the Month: Awarded to the Game Day Operations staff who best embraced and followed the league standards set forth by the league office.
    • Savannah Clovers FC grinded through a challenging month despite the fact that it’s competing in its inaugural season. The ops staff, including Meli Kirkwood, Jesse Agguire, Brian Sykes, Jef Thiffault, Mailys Dos Santos, Chris Miller and Benjamin Messore coordinated three matches right out of the gate, including the first ever home match and all of the trials that come along with it. Additionally, the club was faced numerous challenges including weather conditions.
