CHICAGO (February 16, 2024) – The National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) today released the roster of 2024 clubs, as well as the regular and post-season play format. The 2024 season will kick off March 23 in Georgia for inter-conference matches. All nine clubs will participate in the 2024 U.S. Open Cup and NISA Independent Cup.

The nine clubs will play in an east/west conference format with a focus on regional play – the East will play 20 intra-conference matches; the West will play 18. East clubs will play four inter-conference matches. West clubs will play five inter-conference matches.

“The 2024 format is a solid step forward for the league and our clubs,” says NISA Commissioner John Prutch. “We welcome new clubs Georgia Lions FC, Arizona Monsoon FC, Irvine Zeta FC, and Capo FC. With their addition, we’ve created a critical mass across the country to enable conference-focused play. This will allow clubs to maintain financial strength and focus on the pitch.”

The top two clubs in each conference will advance to their respective conference championship the weekend of October 4-6. The regular season, head-to-head winner between conference champions will host the NISA championship the weekend of October 25-27. NISA will announce the full schedule shortly.

The East/West Conference alignment looks like this:

EAST

  • Club de Lyon FC
  • Georgia Lions FC
  • Maryland Bobcats FC
  • Michigan Stars FC
  • Savannah Clovers FC

WEST

  • Arizona Monsoon FC
  • Capo FC
  • Irvine Zeta FC
  • Los Angeles Force

Gold Star FC Detroit will be under new ownership, and it will take the season off to re-brand and prepare to play the 2025 NISA season.
